Not content with bleeding its loyal, paying fanbase dry with a monthly subscription to a game that seems to keep players going in an infinite loop of finding the best items just in time for the next update to include a more powerful set that will promise to take even longer to get than the last, blizzard is now selling ringtones and mobile wallpapers.

So last time it was the "bust enhancing" ringtone, now its the "break down societal walls regarding the use of contraceptives" ringtone.

I just read about boobtones.com, and I'm just not sure what to do. What could I possibly say about this that you aren't already thinking?

People in the music industry can be rather impressive. The ability for someone to grab onto an artistic outlet, master various skills that go along with it, and then use that to compose beautiful sounds is just thoroughly impressive. When you take those skills and use them to blast off into stardom during your work with, let's say, The Police, no one is going to doubt your prowess.

A few new tools are out for iPhone users that want customized ringtones on their cell phones. A couple of new programs, iToner by Ambrosia Software, and RingtoneStudio by PocketMac, will allow users to choose what songs they want to hear when the phone rings.

Apparently birds are capable of learning ringtones. According to German ornithologists, Birds are capable of learning up to 78 different songs. And Since birds mimic the sounds of the environment, some have started to mimic ringtones. So last week we had ringtones that only dogs can hear, and now we have birds trying to throw us off by mocking the most common ringtones.

Don't you wish you too could turn any dog into a living, breathing, ringtone? No? Me neither. But apparently it's something Dwango of Japan thinks there is a market for. They plan on rolling out ringtones that only dogs can hear. That's right; the sound you use to find out that you have an incoming call can now be completely inaudible to you.

Natasha Bedingfield is not your average pop star. The British singer uses a lot of unusual melodies and rhythms in her music, and isn't confined to the standard pop music approaches. Because of this, she has become well-revered within the music community as both a popular and credible artist.

At this point Rihanna could put out a single that’s just her coughing into the microphone and it would be a smash hit. Not to say she isn’t good, but it’s gotten to the point where she could literally put out anything. That’s one of the greatest things about the music industry. Once you reach a certain level you’ll always have dedicated and loyal fans. You don’t get that in most industries. Like, if you’re an accountant, and you turn in a project, no one’s going to say, “oh, Stevens did this, well he’s been accounting for 15 years, there’s no need to double check his work, we’ll just assume it’s great.” That kind of stuff doesn’t happen.

Ringtones? In your video games? It's more likely than you'd think.   Grand Theft Auto IV has recently hit the shelves and made a splash with gamers, as expected. It has also encountered its usual controversy, as expected, despite the game's adult ratings. But here's something interesting about this go-around: in addition to new characters, new storylines, and new missions, the game has a huge focus on the cell phone of the main character, Niko.   Niko's cell phone is an integral part of the game. It is used to call friends in the game, find jobs to earn cash and respect, or even for starting online games with other players. The phone is particularly interesting, as it functions like a real phone -- it can be customized with accessories and ringtones, as well as accept and send text messages.   This just goes to show how ubiquitous the cell phone has become in our society. When the game first came out, there were no customizable cell phones in it, nor was there the opportunity for the players to use the character's phone. It's a brave new world, though, and the gaming industry took a chance that people would be interested in playing a game that realistic and interactive. Not surprisingly, it has paid off.   The Grand Theft Auto series is property of Rockstar Games, and the entire franchise is one of the most successful ones in modern video game history.
